AHH offers transportation to and from the Amtrak station in Alderson and the airports in Beckley and Lewisburg for guests staying at the house and women who are self surrendering. For those coming in on the train or plane, we provide transportation to and from the prison for visitation. If you are arriving by train or at the airport, please call us in advance, so we can plan to meet you when you arrive.
Alderson, WV is a very small town with only a few places of business. There is a local grocery store, The Green Grocer, a local restaurant, The Big Wheel, a Subway sandwich shop, and a few gas stations with pizza and treats. There is also a Family Dollar and Dollar General. All of these are an easy drive from the house, and can be reached by foot if you are willing to walk a few blocks. For more shopping and dining options, some guests check out Lewisburg, WV about 20 miles from the house.
